Terms of service
The short version. Famora is in beta and free while we build it. Use it for your family, be kind, and keep your sign-in safe. Mora and its heads-ups are there to help, but they can miss things, so you are still in charge of your family’s plans. Your family’s information belongs to you.
What these terms cover
These terms cover famora.io and the Famora app at app.famora.io. “We” means Famora. “You” means the grown-up who signs in. By using Famora you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy, which explains what we collect and why.
Famora is in beta
We are still building Famora, so features may change, move or occasionally break. It is free during the beta. Before we ever charge for anything, we will tell you the price ahead of time and you can decide whether to keep going. We will never charge you without your OK.
Who can use Famora
- You must be 18 or older to create a family or join one as a grown-up.
- Parents and guardians can add their kids to the family, including a first name and an optional photo. Kids don’t get their own accounts or sign in.
- Only add information about people you have the right to share, like your own kids and household.
Your account and your family
- You sign in with a code sent to your email, so keep your email account secure. If you think someone got into your Famora account, email us right away.
- The person who starts a family is its organizer. The organizer can rename the family, remove grown-ups, delete the family, and hand the organizer role to another grown-up.
- Anyone in your family can see and change what’s in it. Invite only people you trust with your family’s plans.
Your family’s information is yours
You own what you and your family add to Famora: events, lists, chores, notes, recipes and photos. You give us permission to store it, copy it to your family’s devices and use it only as needed to run Famora for you, for example to sync it, send Mora’s heads-ups and answer your questions to Mora. We don’t sell it and we don’t use it for ads.
Mora and heads-ups: helpful, not a guarantee
Mora is an AI assistant. It can misunderstand you or get something wrong, so check what it adds to your calendar and lists.
Heads-ups depend on your phone, your notification settings, Apple’s or Google’s notification service and your internet connection. They can arrive late or not at all. Famora is a helper for busy families. Never rely on it alone for a child’s safety or anything urgent.
Connected calendars
When you connect an Apple, Google or Outlook calendar, you allow us to read it from the private link you give us and show its events to your family. Only connect calendars you have the right to share. We only read your calendars and never change them.
Fair use
Please don’t use Famora to break the law, to harass or harm anyone, or to post content that isn’t safe for kids to see. Don’t try to get into other families’ information, overload or disrupt the service, copy or take apart the app, or use bots to access it. We may suspend or close an account that does.
Leaving and ending
You can delete your account, or your whole family if you’re the organizer, any time in Settings. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms. If we ever end the beta or shut Famora down, we will tell you ahead of time when we can.
The legal part
During the beta, Famora is provided as is and as available, without promises that it will always work or be error free, to the extent the law allows. To the extent the law allows, we aren’t responsible for indirect or consequential losses, and our total responsibility to you for any claim is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or 50 US dollars. Some places don’t allow these limits, so they may not apply to you, and nothing here takes away rights you have under the law.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. If a problem comes up, please email us first. Most things can be fixed with a conversation.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we’ll update the date at the top. If the change is a big one, we’ll let you know in the app or by email before it takes effect.
